Samantha Shackleton is a sponsor and supporter of Teule Kenya . With only a few mission trips outside of the US, she embarked on a missions trip to Teule Kenya that would change both her life and those of the two children that she fell in love with at our home in Kenya.
''It was a choice to obey the calling Jesus was putting on my heart. I said yes, and followed through.''
Samantha had wonderful experiences while at Teule. It was during her stay that she met Casey Otieno, a 5 year old that had been at our home for about a year. One day after school all the little kids were playing outside and Casey walked up to Samantha and took her hand. As they were walking he started talking to Samantha in Swahili which is a language she does not know. Even with the language barrier, God still used that moment to place a calling on Samantha's heart for his children at Teule Kenya. Samantha experienced God's love for His people in a new way. She learned how to trust from a five year old .Not only did she spend time spreading love and joy at Teule, she also helped paint the guest house, build a goat pen, and helped with creating the sponsorship profiles that we send to our sponsors.
Sam graduated from college in 2013 and hopes to return to Teule Kenya in the next few years for a longer time this time round. Do you want to volunteer or visit Teule Kenya? Get in touch with us for an adventure of a lifetime.

CHILD OF THE MONTH
Name: Joyce Soloinka
Age: 7 Grade: 1 Sponsor: Needs a sponsor
Joyce is our little athlete. She is never seen without a soccer ball and loves running around playing. Joyce is from the Maasai tribe in Kenya. This tribe practices early marriage for their young girls. At birth, Joyce's future husband was decided for her and it was just a matter of time before she went to be with her new family. Our social worker was notified about Joyce's situation and she was brought to Teule Kenya for protection and care from a future she did not choose. Since then, this future athlete has outdone herself with progressively better academic performance term after term. We are blessed to have Joyce part of our Teule Kenya family.
Please consider sponsoring Joyce or giving a one time donation to go to our un-sponsored children.
This is one of our gardens at Teule Kenya. We feed our children fresh vegetables from this garden. If you are interested in supporting this project, please donate as your support will buy seeds for the next year.
